THE COMPANY

Coffinier Ku Design is a partnership between Etienne Coffinier and Ed Ku. The company was founded in 1998 to bring a French-trained expertise in architecture and interior design to the United States market. Design work begins with a strong structural and architectural base and continues into detailed, primarily custom furniture and furnishings.

Custom-designed work has ranged from the architectural renovation of a home in Southampton to the creation of a forged iron staircase to Lucite coffee tables and includes almost all elements of a home or restaurant.

Residential work has included new houses in La Jolla and Southampton, a loft in Soho, complete architectural renovation of a West Village townhouse, apartments on Park Avenue, an apartment in Paris among many others.

In the commercial world, Coffinier Ku Design has been acclaimed for its design of the restaurants Picholine for Chef Terrance Brennan, Morrell Wine Bar & Cafe in Rockefeller Center, 1200 Miles Restaurant, as well as its work for the new condominium development 255 East 74th Street for which it designed all the building bathrooms and kitchens as well as the lobby.

Coffinier Ku Design has been named one of New York Spaces Top 50 Designers and was the recipient of the 2013 Alpha Award from Alpha Workshops for their work in designing their new school and workroom.
